Governing Body

The Assembly is governed by the Catholicos Patriarch and the Beit Knushta, followed by various appointed clerics known as Rabbanim.

The Assembly of Jerusalem's current Catholicos Patriarch is H.H. +Mar David.

The Beit Knushta consists of 71 members.

In addition to the Patriarch, the following individuals currently serve as members of the Synod of the Patriarchate:

Lawee +Mar Marcus, located in Tibet
Kahein Rabban +Mar Ya'aqub, located in Tibet

The Bishops are appointed with various responsibilities within different territories throughout the world.

The Rabbanim (plural for "Rabban") are appointed by the Synod to serve the Assembly in educational matters, both within the Assembly and to assist in the coordination of educational programs outside the Assembly. Each Rabban is also responsible for maintaining the local religious court for halakhah and minhagim (traditional practices and guidelines for various cultures and communities within the Greater Assembly).
